Construction on Hwy. 55/52 in Inver Grove Heights has made for a frustrating drive for commuters over the past week and Monday was no exception. Drivers needed 15 minutes to go just over 4 miles from the Hwy. 55/52 split near the Koch Refinery up to Concord Blvd. The bad backups are likely to continue, so Hwy. 61 might be something to explore.

A rollover wreck on eastbound 94 between Hennepin Avenue and 35W had the right lane blocked from about 7:30 a.m. until 8 a.m., long enough to create a big traffic snarl that extened back to Olson Hwy. Eastbound 394 ran sluggish as a result from Hwy. 100 to downtown Minneapolis.

Heavy traffic on I-494 during the mid portion of the rush hour had drive times close to 20 minutes between Cedar Avenue and Hwy. 169. That's starting to loosen at this hour, but you'll need some extra time traveling through Bloomington.

The system ran smoothly elsewhere for most of the rush aside from a few pockets of congestion that had speeds below the posted.

At current, the crash that moved to the left shoulder on northbound 35W at 50th Street is the one fly in the ointment on the system. Plan on hitting the brakes at Crosstown past the scene.

The fender bender on northbound 35W at Cliff Road is harmless in terms of any delays to commuters.

No issues reported on trains and buses today.

That is it for today. I'll be back Tuesday with more live traffic reports. Stay cool.
