MINNEAPOLIS, MINN. - Today, the Minneapolis City Council passed a resolution urging the Minnesota Vikings and the Minnesota Sports Facilities Authority to incorporate bird-safe glass in the design of the new stadium, keeping with the recommendations of the City Council's own task force, the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources and Audubon Minnesota. Audubon Minnesota's Executive Director Matthew Anderson released the following statement:
"We applaud the Minneapolis City Council for recognizing that Minnesotans deserve the best of both worlds; a top flight, world-class sports facility that is also on the leading edge of bird-safety. We want the Vikings to become leaders in sustainable stadium design and using the recommended bird-safe glass is a win-win for both the team and the people of Minnesota, as well as for birds."
