Mans, Judith Rose Keltgen Age 79 of St. Peter, Judy passed away peacefully on January 16th, 2019 surrounded by her loving family. She was born October 15, 1939 in Nicollet, MN and grew up with her four sisters on a farm outside of St. Peter. After graduating high school from Good Counsel Academy in Mankato, Judy attended Mankato State College, getting her teaching degree in three years. Her young teaching career was interrupted by her marriage to Jim in 1961 and the arrival of her three children born on three continents during the 1960s. Returning to Mankato in 1967, Judy started her 30-year career at Mankato State College (now Minnesota State University, Mankato). During her time at MSU, Judy worked for several University presidents, completed her Master's degree, started the Alumni Affairs office and served as its first director. Upon retirement in 1997, Judy and Jim moved north and quickly plugged in to their new community. Among her many activities, Judy was particularly involved with the Jacques Art Center in Aitkin, MN and traveled frequently. She got and gave great joy through her "Grandma Trips" completed with her eight grandchildren. Upon turning fourteen, each grandchild got to choose an international destination and off they went with grandma. Ireland, Belgium, Luxembourg, France, London, and Rome were all enjoyed by young and old alike! Judy is survived by her husband of 57 years, Jim; son, Adam (Elizabeth Burnett); daughters, Jessica (Derrick) Poirier and Katie (Doug) Molitor; grandchildren, Jake, Zak, Ben, Leo, Abby, Gabe, Henry, and Peter; and sisters Margaret Schmidt and Phyllis Rivard.
