OSSEo 56, Irondale 8

Osseo coach Derrin Lamker knows he has talent. Still, after his team dominated Irondale in a 56-8 victory, it's safe to say he liked what he saw. The host Orioles intercepted Irondale on three consecutive possessions to start the game and scored following all of them. Osseo scored 28 points in the first quarter on only 10 plays, then added 28 more points in the second on 12 plays. Every first-half drive resulted in a touchdown before halftime. Osseo rolled up 299 yards of total offense before halftime, a total that would likely have been greater had the Orioles not started so many drives in Irondale territory. Osseo junior quarterback Malik Gaillard went 6-for-6 passing for 101 yards and four touchdowns, all in the first half, before calling it a night.

Key of the game: The three interceptions by the Orioles: Kordell Russell on the Knights' first drive, Stephan Ameyaw on the second and Segun Adedeji on the third.

Quote: "I know we have speed," Lamker said. "Irondale was probably a little overmatched from a talent standpoint. But it's always nice to get that first one out of the way."

One thing to know: Irondale played without star running back Victor James, who sat out while awaiting for clearance to play following a blood clot in his lung last spring.
