This is the first of 10 games at home. … Kevin Correia had been scheduled to start Saturday, but the Twins moved up Phil Hughes by a day. Hughes has made 10 career starts against Tampa Bay, and is 4-5 with a 4.62 ERA. … They are 13-12 against the AL East. … The Twins went 2-1 at Tampa Bay in April, the first time they won a series against the Rays since 2011. They are 10-24 against the Rays over the past five seasons, 4-12 at Target Field. … They are without RHPs Ricky Nolasco and Mike Pelfrey, 1B Joe Mauer and SS Danny Santana. … CF Sam Fuld spent three seasons with Tampa Bay (2011-13), and batted .230 with five home runs and 49 RBI in 268 games.

They are 22-25 away from home. … They are without RF Wil Myers (wrist), RHP Matt Moore (elbow surgery) and LF David DeJesus (hand), and C Ryan Hanigan (side) and CF Desmond Jennings (knee) are day-to-day. … 3B Evan Longoria is having a subpar season (.257, 11 homers, 44 RBI), but needs only five RBI to pass Carl Crawford (592) for the franchise record. … LHP David Price's 164 strikeouts are the most by any pitcher at the break in 12 years.
