The website of the Red Rock Corridor transit project will be getting a fresh coat of paint later this year.

The Red Rock Corridor Commission is requesting bids from Web design firms to help with "website upgrades, hosting and content management, and branding and graphic design," as well as managing the commission's social media efforts.

The redesigned website, which was last updated five years ago, will feature a more user-friendly interface and slightly different design, giving it "a fresher look," said Andy Gitzlaff, a senior transportation planner for Washington County.

The news comes on the heels of the commission's decision to endorse bus rapid transit as the mode of transit for the 30-mile corridor that will link downtown Minneapolis and Hastings.
