One of U.S. Sen. Al Franken's Republican challengers, St. Louis County Commissioner Steve Dahlberg, is reporting that he raised $103,000 during his first three months in the race.

Dahlberg announced his candidacy at the end of September. He had roughly $47,000 left in his campaign coffers at the end of the year.

During an appearance on "Fox News Sunday," Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell said the Republican Party will ramp up their efforts to win Senate seats in three states President Obama won in 2012: Minnesota, New Hampshire and Colorado.

Through the end of the year, Franken, a first-term Democrat, had amassed a significant fundraising lead over his potential opponents with $4.8 million banked for his re-election bid.

Businessman Mike McFadden, thus far the lead fundraiser among the GOP candidates, had $1.7 in the bank at the end of 2013.

The other Republican candidates have not released their latest fundraising totals. The campaign finance filing deadline is Friday.
