Good morning, commuters!

Black ice forms when the air temperature is warmer than pavement, which causes moisture to rapidly freeze and creates a thin, transparent layer of ice on the roadway. That is a definite possibility today as it's another day with temperatures at minus 13 degrees or colder.

Already we have one vehicle that spun out on eastbound Hwy. 10 east of Main Street in Coon Rapids , hit a guard rail and went into the ditch.

Transit riders will want to dress in layers to keep warm at the rail platforms and bus stops.

I will be keeping an eye on the roads and rails this morning, reporting any delays or issues — and I will need your help.

If you see or hear about any congestion, delays or problems, e-mail drive@startribune or tweet @stribdrive.
