• Four Final Exit Network members were charged with felonies in the 2007 death of Jana Van Voorhis of Phoenix. A jury acquitted Dr. Larry Egbert of Baltimore. The other defendants pleaded guilty to lesser charges.
• Egbert and three other FEN members again faced felony charges in connection with the 2008 death of John Celmer in Georgia. The case was thrown out in February after the state Supreme Court struck down the state's assisted-suicide law.
