CLEVELAND -- Don't adjust your TV when tonight's game starts.

The teams will be wearing throwback uniforms, honoring the Negro Leagues, with the Twins wearing the 1909 St. Paul Gophers unis, and the Indians dressed like the 1946 Cleveland Buckeyes.

The old Gophers uniforms are navy blue, with long, drapey sleeves. (Is drapey a word? Where's Michael Kors?) The hats are white with short blue brims.

"I think we should be taking a train to the ballpark tomorrow, and I think I should be smoking a cigar in the dugout," Manager Ron Gardenhire said. "They actually look really cool. I mean, hot, but cool. I honestly might just wear mine on the airplane afterwards because it does have a collar, and we require a collar."

Gardenhire also noted that it'll be challenging for Carl Pavano to go through his ritual between-innings undershirt changes. Anyway, it's something different.

Joe Mauer looked good making throws to second base earlier and likely will catch Sunday, though that will depend on how his arm feels in the morning. He is DHing tonight for the fifth straight game, with Drew Butera catching Pavano again.

The Twins will have a roster move after the game, as they plan to activate Orlando Hudson from the DL on Sunday. It's likely that Trevor Plouffe will be headed back to Rochester, barring another injury. Gardenhire said Hudson will return as the starting second baseman with Casilla moving back into a utility role.

The Indians will induct Kenny Lofton into their Hall of Fame in a pregame ceremony.

"It will be fun for me to watch an ex teammate that you care about get an award like this," Jim Thome said. "Kenny's a class act. He's a good person."
