Amtrak's Empire Builder with service between the Pacific Northwest and Chicago remains suspended due to floods in North Dakota, though trains continue to run between St. Paul and Chicago.

On June 1, Amtrak suspended the Empire Builder line between St. Paul, Minn., and Spokane, Wash., because of water-related track problems between Devils Lake and Rugby in northeast North Dakota. They had hoped to restore service earlier this week. Now, Amtrak says the line will remain closed through at least Monday.

Amtrak suggests that passengers with travel plans on the route should call 1-888-872-7245 or go to amtrak.com for updates. The home page currently has an "alert" link to the Midwest and West service disruptions.
