Oswaldo Arcia is in today's starting lineup, batting fifth and playing right field. The Twins have been looking forward to seeing Arcia swing the bat this spring, but he went down with a strained intercoastal muscle right before games began. He's been cleared to play and gets to face scatter-armed lefty Jonathan Sanchez and the Pittsburgh Pirates.

Arcia has a chance to contribute this season, so it will cool to watch him play today. He's crushing the ball in b.p.

The Twins were expected to cut some players today but that announcement has been delayed, apparently. Some players were seen packing in the clubhouse this morning, like Josmil Pinto, B.J. Hermsen, Chris Hermann and Daniel Santana, so the decision to delay the announcement is rather confusing. Maybe they decide to not cut the players I mentioned, then I'll have to apologize to them for writing them off, heh.

They might be waiting to see who they get back from the World Baseball Classic after today, which could affect numbers at certain positions.

Trevor Plouffe is not the starting lineup for the second straight game and might be having more issues with his right calf again. Stay tuned.

It's Minnesota Day here today. Perhaps the Twins will get their first sellout of the spring season.

UPDATE:The Twins have decided to announce the cuts after all. Press release coming soon.

UPDATE: The Twins have assigned Nick Blackburn, Lester Oliveros, Alex Meyer, Esmerling Vasquez and Bryan Augenstein to the minor league camp. Blackburn (wrist) and Oliveros (Tommy John) already were out due to surgeries.
