The first surprise on the first injury report of the week is defensive end Jared Allen, who was limited because of a chest injury.

Also limited in practice was cornerback Chris Cook (groin), linebacker E.J. Henderson and punt returner Marcus Sherels (chest). On the injury report with full participation in practice were cornerback Asher Allen (toe), receiver Michael Jenkins (groin) and Kevin Williams (plantar fasciitis in his left foot), who practiced for the first time since returning from his two-game StarCaps suspension.

Meanwhile, the Lions listed 10 players on their injury report. Nine of them didn't practice today. Five of them are starters: DE Cliff Avril (knee), S Louis Delmas (hip), WR Calvin Johnson (ankle), LB DeAndre Levy (knee) and DE Kyle Vanden Bosch (not injury related).

It's way too early in the week to read too much into the injury report. Last week, E.J. Henderson didn't practice on Thursday and Friday, was listed as questionable and still played in the game on Sunday.

Jared Allen has played with shoulder issues before.

Cook is the one Vikings injury to keep an eye on this week. As the nickel back going up against the Lions' passing attack, he will get plenty of playing time across from Johnson. Cook strained his groin in the first half against the Bucs and sat out the second half.

"It was just a little nag, but it's better now," Cook said after practice. "It felt good at practice today. I really just ignored it and tried to go out there full speed and play fast."

Cook also said the injury was more of a tightness that was the result of "not enough hydration."
