BOSTON -- The Twins are 36-34 since May 16, and they felt like Friday's 6-5, 10-inning victory at Fenway Park was another sign that they're a better team than they looked when their record stood at 10-26.

"That was a big hole," Justin Morneau said. "It's hard to climb out of it sometimes when you get down as much as we did. It was a real tough month of April. But I think the team you've seen since May is more of an indication of what this team's capable of."

The Twins are 6-2 in their past eight games, and both of the losses were by one run. They've outscored their opponents 51-24 in that span.

"I think our true colors are really showing," said Jeff Gray, who recorded four big outs to improve to 6-1.

The Twins are now 5-2 in extra-inning games this year and they've won consecutive games against Boston for the first time since 2009 and consecutive games at Fenway Park for the first time since 2006.

They'll try to make it three in a row on Saturday, when Cole De Vries pitches opposite Red Sox righthander Clay Buchholz. First pitch is 6:10 p.m. (Central).
