A Blue Earth County prosecutor said the videos of a Mankato football coach's children show "masturbation and lewd exhibition of genitals" not innocent kids at play.

In briefs filed with the court in the pornography case against Minnesota State University–Mankato coach Todd Hoffner, prosecutor Mike Hanson wants a judge to view the controversial videos and decide for herself. "Your honor, the State has provided the evidence to you," Hanson wrote. "You will know it when you see it." Hoffner was escorted off the football filed in August after university officials found the videos on his work cell phone, which he had turned in to be fixed. Hoffner and his wife have maintained that the short videos, which show their children -- all under the age of 10 -- dancing naked, are private family moments of kids being silly. In one, the 8 year old boy touches his penis. Hoffner explained in court that the kids were performing a skit. Hanson maintained the videos were not the proverbial kids in a bathtub photo though. The university's IT department "found the video disturbing enough to report them" to administrators, which referred the matter to the police, Hanson wrote. "Law enforcement found the videos disturbing enough that they consulted the County Attorney's Office. The County Attorney's Office felt production and possession of the videos was beyond the scope of what the law allows and drafted a criminal complaint." Jass is expected to rule quickly on whether the case can go forward.
