The Gophers, ranked No. 9 nationally, beat Indiana 25-14, 25-15, 25-18 on Wednesday at the Sports Pavilion in their Big Ten volleyball opener. Senior middle blocker Tori Dixon had 11 kills for Minnesota (13-1) while Daly Santana and Ashley Wittman had nine apiece.
Santana also had a season-high five aces. Freshman Hannah Tapp led the Gophers in blocks with a season-high seven. Jordan Haverly led the Hoosiers (8-4) with 10 kills.
Wittman, fourth among active Division I players in career kills, reached 1,500 with her output against Indiana. Haverly's 10 put her career kill total at 1,499.
