Tom Hanks' Playtone Productions has announced its next project - and it's a biggie.

According to the Hollywood Reporters, Hanks and partner Gary Goetzman are planning on a six-season TV series based on Neil Gaiman's "American Gods," which will air on HBO starting in 2013.

The series is expected to cost $35 million to $40 million a season, which is slightly more than Gaiman's fee to speak at a public library.
