No. 1/2 St. Cloud State rallies to tie Union

• ST. CLOUD STATE 3, UN­ION 3 (OT), tie: Jonny Brodzinski's power-play goal with 20 seconds left in the third period enabled the Huskies (11-2-3) to tie the visiting Dutchmen (12-4-2) after a scoreless extra period. No. 10 Union led 3-1 after two periods, but Joey Benik cut the lead to one goal on a power play 3:32 into the final period. He also had an assist on the Huskies' third goal. St. Cloud State went into the series rated No. 1 by the USCHO.com website and No. 2 by USA Today but lost 4-1 on Friday.

• NORTH DAKOTA 3, NORTHERN MICHIGAN 1: After being shut out for 2½ periods, UND (9-7-2) got two goals in under four minutes from Gage Ausmus and Drake Caggiula and a last-minute empty-netter from Derek Rodwell to sweep the visiting Wildcats (6-10-2).

• MIN­NE­SO­TA DULUTH 4, WEST­ERN MICH­I­GAN 3: Alex Iafallo's power-play goal at 9:36 of the third period for the Bulldogs (7-8-1, 3-5-0 NCHC) broke a 3-3 tie at Amsoil Arena. UMD took a 3-0 lead in the first period, but the Broncos (7-8-3, 3-5-0) got one goal in the second and the first two goals of the third. Western Michigan won 5-3 Friday.

• WIS­CON­SIN 4, COL­O­RA­DO COL­LEGE 3 (OT): Tyler Barnes, of Eagan, scored at 1:41 of overtime to give the No. 15 Badgers (8-5-1) the victory at the Kohl Center.

• MSU MANKATO 4, ALABAMA HUNTSVILLE 1: Jean-Paul Lafontaine scored one power-play goal and assisted on another as the Mavericks (11-7-0, 9-3-0 WCHA) swept the host Chargers (1-17-0, 1-11-0) and extended their winning streak to seven games.

• ALASKA FAIRBANKS 5, BEMIDJI STATE 1: Defenseman Michael Quinn had a goal and two assists to lead the Nanooks (7-8-3, 4-7-1 WCHA) over the Beavers (5-9-6, 5-5-4) in Bemidji.

• FERRIS STATE 2, MICHIGAN STATE 0: C.J. Motte made 16 saves and Chad McDonald and Justin Buzzeo scored goals in the first and second periods, respectively, as the No. 4 Bulldogs (14-2-3) extended their unbeaten streak to a school-record 15 games. Ferris State will be in the Mariucci Classic on Jan. 3-4 and could meet the Gophers the second day.
