The missing 39-year-old man whose body was found behind a Savage Target store last week died of apparent drowning, the Hennepin County medical examiner announced Wedneday.
Martise Windom was found in a holding pond near a Target store on Hwy. 13, more than four months after he was reported missing. Windom, a Lakeville youth basketball coach, was last seen leaving his Savage home on Nov. 7.
The manner of death remains undetermined, officials said.
Savage police and the state's Bureau of Criminal Apprehension are investigating. Windom's godson, Noah Gregory, had said that Windom was an entrepreneur who owned his own credit recovery business.
