Type: Senior housing

Units: 44

Size: 25,616 square feet

Developer: White Pine Senior Living

Architect: River Valley Architects

Details: A conditional use permit for the second phase of the White Pine Senior Living complex at the Lakes of Radisson has been approved by the Blaine City Council, allowing for 44 new units at the site. The council on Nov. 7 unanimously backed the proposal from the Mendota Heights-based developer, under which a 25,616-square-foot assisted-living building will go up next to the 63-unit first building, which was built in 2008.

The building will feature common areas for dining and kitchen space, with rents ranging from $3,800 to $5,800 per month, varying by the level of care provided to residents. The developer indicated services for "memory care" residents with Alzheimer's disease will be available.

Rooms sizes will range from 220 to 242 square feet. Architecturally it is to be consistent with the first building, with exterior elements including composite siding, cultured stone and glass.

The master plan for the White Pine site allows for a total of 125,000 square feet of construction, leaving enough room for a future third phase.
