The dislocations caused by major repairs to Interstate 35E continue this week.

Starting Sunday, southbound ramps to I-35E from County Road 11, a major traffic feeder, will close as traffic shifts to the northbound side of the interstate.

Northbound ramps were set to reopen Friday.

The single-lane, side-by-side traffic will run south of Cedar Avenue to the 35E-35W split, the state Department of Transportation said.

The ramps and the closed lanes should reopen by July 22, subject to weather.

On Wednesday, officials added, the McAndrews Road (County Road 38) bridge over I-35E in Burnsville is to close. Crews will repair it and add a railing.

The bridge is expected to reopen July 24. In the meantime a signed detour will assist motorists.

Maximum speeds in the area have been whittled to 55 miles per hour.
