Wine
Oregon is justly renowned for its pinot noir, but the white wines are pretty doggone swell, too. The 2011 Evesham Wood Blanc de Puits Sec ($16) drinks well above its price point, the citrus and green apple fruit melding deftly with spot-on acidity. That's if you get past the alluring aromatics on this blend of pinot gris (85 percent) and gewürztraminer (15 percent) from an organic vineyard. At 12.5 percent alcohol, it's a wonderful al fresco sipper, but also should play well with spicy foods or at a fish fry. Available at Cork Dork, Tournament and Dennis Brothers.
