We have all been witnesses to the power of the Pavstache this year. But are we at the precipice of a revolution, whereby all careers and/or seasons can be resurrected simply by growing a little bit of lip magic? Exhibit B is Michael Cuddyer, of whom we have both visual (screen grab via MLB video) and written evidence of a foray into mustache-mania. From Joe C's game story, a contest Sunday in which Cuddy slugged a key two-run double to back Pavstache's pitching in an important 6-3 victory over Detroit:

Less than a year since arriving from Cleveland in a trade, Pavano has emerged as a team leader. He started growing a mustache in April, and to change the luck Sunday, Cuddyer and Matt Guerrier decided they should try wearing mustaches, too. They laughed about how they looked, but maybe the mustache magic worked. "Now it's got to stay, I guess," Cuddyer said.

Hey, nobody will care that the thing looks like gravy is leaking down the sides of his face if Cuddy starts delivering with runners on base. Let that thing take root over the All-Star break! Long live the 'stache revolution. It could be the 2010 version of Smell 'em.
