Earlier this week I mentioned the $99 men's suits at Uber Outlet in Minneapolis. Those are long gone (and some of you who missed out turn really nasty when you come away empty-handed. C'mon people, it's bargain-hunting 101 that the better the deal, the earlier you have to get there). But here's an even better tip and you'd better show up early to take advantage. The Look warehouse sales are history, but a former associate is having a last blast of its remaining inventory of about 1,000 pieces. Everything is marked at $5 during the sale from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday. The pants, jackets, skirts, dresses and tank tops come in small, medium, large and extra-large sizes for spring/summer. Styles are loose-fitting, colorful and funky. The sale takes place at the owner's home at 4941 Upton Av. S., Minneapolis, 612-920-1911. Cash only.

If $5 per item is too pricey, frugalistas, go to Steeple People thrift (2004 Lyndale Av. S., Minneapolis, 612-871-8305). Fit all the clothes, shoes and purses you can into a paper sack for $8. Still too much? The price declines each day until it's only $1 per bag Aug. 29. BTW, Steeple People is not going out of business. It's just a good sale.

The ShopNBC Outlet (6740 Shady Oak Rd., Eden Prairie, 952-943-6780) is closing Sept. 5. Everything is 35 percent off including Moissonite, gems, silver and watches. The gold is nearly gone, but plenty of gem stone rings, men's and women's watches, diamonds, and asssorted jewelry remains. Manager Krystal Klecker said everything was at wholesale cost before the sale and now everything is 35 percent less. Weekend hours are 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day.
