Folks, you'll get bonus baseball down here on March 1 when the Twins play host to the Red Sox at 1 p.m. for a B game. Both clubs have over 30 pitchers in camp, so the game will help them evaluate pitchers. So if you're in town...

B games usually are free admission with no frills (concessions, radio, etc.). We'll let you know if that changes. The Twins will play a B game at Pittsburgh on March 10.

Tsuyoshi Nishioka was one of several players to report today. He hit in the cages behind Hammond Stadium but left before we could get to him. This is a big change from last year, when he worked out by himself on the back fields until the first full squad workout.

With Nishi around, the unofficial La Velle count is 57 players in camp.

Nishi looks like he really worked on strengthening his legs during the offseason. He knows he needs a big spring.

Francisco Liriano said today his goal is to pitch deeper into games. And it sounds like he's going to work on his sinker again this spring.

Talked with Rule 5 pick Terry Doyle today. Nice guy. He has degrees in Math and Secondary Education from Boston College and was a substitute teacher this offseason. For more on Doyle, check out tomorrow's StarTribune.
