It was a busy rush hour with several crashes on the system, including two pairs of wrecks on northbound 35W at Cliff Road and a trio of accidents on southbound 494 between the Fish Lake Interchange and 49th Avenue.

Just about everything has cleared and traffic is moving at the posted speeds at this hour. The exception is in the area of eastbound 94 at Snelling Avenue where a stall is blocking the right shoulder. Traffic slows in the immediate area.

Also look for a pocket of congestion on northbound 35W from County Road 42 to the Minnesota River. That's 8 to 10 minutes.

Look for some midday precip with about 1 inch of snow expected today. That could gum up the roads for your lunchtime commute.

I'll be back tomorrow with you look at Thursday's morning commute.

I'm looking for feedback on how the new traffic signals are working on Hiawatha Avenue. City officials will give their assessment at 2 p.m. today. Drivers, tell me how things are for you by emailing drive@startribune or call me at 612-673-7768.
